The Appleloosan Conflicts

Before the war, battle lines were drawn and borders were made. Towns and cities that were once peacful were forced to join sides. Some of these cities gave into enemy forces without conflict, or they were seiged for so long they gave up. There were towns however, that were proud of their beleifs and were determined to fight to the last pony. These towns were not taken so easily.
Appleloosa: Ten days after Equestria's seperation
Rarity realized she had to get towns on her side, she could not fight a war with only Canterlot. She scouted for possible towns rich in supplies that her armies could use, that's when she found Appleloosa. The town was a perfect place to set up a camp and also to ship food in and out of. Rarity knew that if she took the town, her armies would be fighting on a full stomach.
Rarity first moved her forces along the railroad of Appleloosa. She hoped that she could simply ask for the town to help, and that would be the end of it. A small party of her soldiers entered the town and consulted with its sherif. The sherif agreed to help Rarity's cause and camps would be set up the next day. Even though most of the town people supported Rarity, there were others that were more on Rainbow Dash's side. They were an organized group known as the "Dust Devils". They were armed group of insurgeants in Appleloosa that agreed with Rainbow Dash. They knew they could not let Appleloosa fall into their enemies hands, so they set up a strike force.
When the scouting parties moved in to look for possible camp sites, they were all ambushed. The small groups of sword and pike ponies were no match for the hit and run tactics of these axe and bow weilding soldiers. The remaining of the scouting parties were forced to fall back to the main group. The encampment set ups were delaied by these attacks, and the insergiants threatened to set fire to the town if Rarity's army tried to move in by full force. They were going to need a plan to take the city.
Rarity met with her most trusted advisors and generals. They hatched a plan that had a fifty percent chance of working, however Rarity called it "Pure Geniouse". The army was to fall back away from the town, as if they were giving up on Appleloosa. When the army did this they did not go back to Canterlot, they stopped near the train tracks. They knew that the insergeants also needed supplies and food to keep the town, they also knew it would come in by train. When the train did come by a large fighting force was packed into every car possible. They stayed hidden until the train pulled up into Appleloosa. The insurgeants came to retreave their goods, bet they were met was an overwhelming amount of attackers. The "Dust Devils" were distracted and outnumbered. Rarity's army was able to move into the town and eradicate the Devils. Appleloosa was taken by Rarities forces and camps were set up a few days later.
