Every battle had two stories to be told. There is the story in history books, the one created by experts... and then there is the soldiers story. The one with all the details and where every last second of the fight is drawn out for you. These are some of the soldiers tails, the ones you won't find in a library or a textbook. These are the diaries of those who were actually there and those who actually witnessed the following events.
The Great Vanhooven Sinking: Approaching the harbor
The waters are calm as usual. We haven't seen any sighns of enemy acticity, and the boats don't seem to be changing course. I can see the lights of the harbor and I can small the city from in the bay. It is a peacful night and the stars are lighting our way. I can hear our boat, the Jam Master, lightly creack as she floats in the small waves. I've enjoyed this voyage. It put a nice break of peace between the battles and constent drills. I know when I step onto land I'll have to go back soon. I decided I would start a journal, I no this wars going to end, even though some think otherwise. Why not have a recorded account of it?
I'm pretty sure Hell just broke lose in front of me! The harbor is swarming with Pinkies soldiers. I saw our landing party beind stabbed and bucked over just a second ago! They were waiting for us! I just know they were waiting for us! I'm under decks right now, and I here way to much movemne tup on deck for just the crew to be up there! I pretty sure they've just boarded us! I have to hide, I can't die now. I can't die, I need to make it back home. I've got to get out of this harbor! I'll jump off the boat!
We've pulled out of the harbor, but there's more of them! They have massive warships trapping us in! The Tiara just went down in flames! There are armies of Pegasie flying overhead! I'm trying to stay under cover. There are arrows sticking out of the entire deck, as well as the bodies floating by as and on our ship! I can see flaming barrels dropping onto ships and the bay as if the sky was bruning! I can see bruning sailors jumping into the ocean and drowning. I can hear the battle cries and the cries of agony from everpony! It's so loud it to much...
This Diary was never completed. The Jem Master was registered a sunk aswell as the entire naval fleet sent in that night. This diary was found on shore not far from the wreck site. The name of the soldier who wrote this is unknown.
