Sorrow in Seperation

Breeze walked through the forest. He saw fog, fog, and more fog. It was something he wasn't used to coming from the moutains. He was always above the fog and it always looked like a river below. Now he was in the thick of it.
he had traveled this country road before. He did not have to look, but he knew the ruins of a once great farm were to his right. He also knew there was a castle not to far ahead of him, deeper into the Everyfree.
Speaking of Everyfree, Breeze had been told stories of the forest. He had been told it was dangerouse, and deadly to venture in here. Breeze saw that as exciting and he dreamed of coming here and seeing it in its full glory. The forests gloy days had passed though, the entire worlds glory days had passed. Now there was only war, and threats like exploding barrels, Breeze was still amazed how close he had come to death.
He had decided to visit the grave of Twilight Sparkle. He had admired her as a filly and he saw her as the best leader of them all. It always brought comfirt to him when she was mentioned, or when he saw a statue of her. He needed comfirt right now, he was scared. He was scared of the world and of everypony in it. He wanted things to go back to normal.
he approached the statue in the clearing. As he peared through the fog he saw a dragon, a green and purple dragon sitting at the statue. Breeze backed off for a second, but then he noticed something. The dragon was weaping, crying over the grave. breeze eased up and approached the dragon.
" Got room for one more?" he asked hanging his head.

Breeze walked over to where Spike sat. He smiled at the dragon and then sat down on his hind legs. As he sat down he looked up at the statue and starred. He felt like a wimp for using a statue as comfort, but he also felt pride. He felt pride in still remembering the princess many had forgoten about. After stareing at the statue and gaining back his sence of security he turned to spike, who was now savoring gems.
"My name in Breeze, I'm a pony from the mountains." Breeze let Spike finish his jems before responding.
As he waited for the dragon he looked back at the statue. He began to remember Fluttershy in the forest, and the explosion back in the city. It was then that he fully understood how bad the world had gotten, how dangerouse and wicked ponies had become. He began to feel ashamed, but he knew he wasn't like the armies or theives. He was one that faut to protect and for peace, on a small scale at least.

Breeze was amazed with the amount of questions this dragon had. He was even more surprised to see the dragon sharing, he didn't eat gems but he thought dragons were all gready. "I geuss I was wrong." Breeze put his hoof out to take the gem, but Spike then asked him where his alegences lied. Breeze was taken back by this question, he didn't know a baby dragon could be so concerned about the war. "I'm with Rarity on this one." Breeze said hoping he had allied with the right mare. He didn't want to hurt or even kill a baby anything.

After the dragons question was answered he felt a feeling of ease rush over him. He was happy to have finaly vocalized his side, to confidently say that he lived in the dark, but he faut for the light. It made him feal independent. It made him feel like he could handle himself, instead of being called a lost cause by his village. They had recently given up hope, but finding an Allie of Rarity boosted Breez's moral, it encouraged him and he thought they might actually forge a freindship, a word Breeze didn't here much anymore.

Breeze got up along with the sad little dragon. He couldn't help but feel bad for him. Only recently had he relized this was Twilights old assistant. He remembered him being mentioned in tales and songs, he really had no idea that he was alive.

" I normally do travel alone." Breeze answered Spike
" It's not a good feeling, kind of lonely."

Breeze thought he could relate to his new freind. They were both living in a world they hated, they both felt alone and unable to change anything. Breeze realized he could get to know this dragon better, he seemed to be a direct line to Queen Rarity, some pony Breeze wanted to meet.

" Spike, you don't LIVE with Rarity do you?"

Breeze smiled at Spikes request. He could finaly meet the leader of the good and light. She was almost like an idol to him, somepony who inspired him. "Of course I want to meet her!" Breeze said with much excitment. he couldn't contain his joy. He was going to Canterlot, the largest and most beautiful city in all Equestria! He was also going to meet Rarity while he was there!
After his excited outburst he motioned for Spike to lead the way. He wanted to get there as soon as possible. He also didn't like the atmosphere of this place. It was dark and gloomy. He was used to that feel, but that didn't mean he liked feeling it. he would rather here the happy streets of Canterlot, than the sad cries of owls. He began walking. He looked to the sky as he walked. Trying to see through the thick fog above, trying to get a glimpse of the gloriouse city, Canterlot.
He wondered if he would be excepted. If ponies would shun him for being a Pegasus, or if they would greet him with open hooves. He tried pushing that thought away. he didn't want to damper his good mood, it was all he had right now. Something told Breeze, when he left Las Pegasus, he wasn't going to return to that kingdom, even if he wanted to.
